The PTA AGM Monday 8th October 7pm for 7:30m start

As you are probably aware, the PTA runs as a charity and we have to follow certain rules. Part of those rules is that we have an AGM so everyone knows what we are doing with all the money we work hard to raise.

But perhaps more importantly than that, it’s a great chance for you to get involved and tell us how you think we should be spending the money, or how we can raise even more money!

It’s also when we appoint certain roles – Chair / Vice Chair / Treasurer / Secretary / School Liaison – so it’s a very important evening.

Even if you’re not interested in any of those specific positions, we always welcome and need ‘general’ committee members – it’s a fantastic way for Year R parents to really feel a part of the school.

This year’s meeting is planned for Monday 8th October and ANYONE can attend whether you are on the PTA or not. I could not overstate the importance of this meeting in setting out what we as a PTA do – remember, every penny we raise goes towards helping your child’s education and learning experience.

If you want to be involved in this and have a say, you know what to do…

Most of our meetings these days are usually at the pub (see, it’s not all work) but the AGM will be held at the school. We’ll see you there.

Snacks and drinks will be provided (non-alcoholic and alcoholic!) from 7pm onwards with the meeting starting at 7:30pm

End of Year BBQ Friday 13th July

Yes, it’s the end of year BBQ!

Always a lovely event, just come and hang out with friends in the school grounds.

Tickets are only £4 each or £15 for four – each ticket gives you one sausage, one burger and one roll.

You are welcome to bring any other food, snacks and drinks you wish and we suggest you bring a blanket and / or chairs too.

If you haven’t been before, the kids usually dash off into the woods and look after themselves so you can just kick back and relax (or dance!) with DJ Loz in the mix – there’s also a cash prize quiz to play!

Tickets are on sale NOW in the school office.

In the case of bad weather, ALL tickets are fully refunded.

Street Dance Workshop Sunday 8th July- Tickets now on sale!

Tickets available NOW from the local Londis Castle Store on the Green and from the school office at St John’s Primary School.

Places are limited and we expect the event to sell out so don’t hang about to get your tickets quickly.

Come and join us for an exciting afternoon of STREET DANCE!

In the workshops, children will learn the freshest street dance moves ranging from Hip-Hop foundations to Breakin’ (Breakdancing). Whether you are a total beginner or have some skills already, join us for a fun filled session – All levels & abilities welcome.

The event is open to all children and there will be two sessions running.

  • 1:00pm-1:45pm 3-7 year olds £6 each
  • 1:50pm-3:00pm 8-14 year olds £7 each

The workshops are being run by FUNK FORMAT who are a local not for profit organisation and run a lot of classes in the local area.

This is not a ‘drop off’ event – parents/carers remain responsible for their child(ren) during this event. Therefore the RCVF Bar on the Green will be reopen for thirsty parents & spectators. Other refreshments to be available too. There will also be activities for any children not taking part/waiting for their session.

Please wear suitable footwear for movement, such as trainers. Also bring smiles & heaps of energy!

A big thank you to our friends on the Rowlands Castle Village Fair Committee have helped fund this event and have also kindly let us use the marquee the day after the Village Fair for this special one off event. Another warm thank you to the Londis Castle Stores have also contributed towards the running of this event.

We look forward to seeing you there!
